HAZEL PARK, Mich. (WXYZ) — Instead of in a uniform, George Tacket was on the wrong side of prosecutors Wednesday in Hazel Park court.
The officer stood listening to the charges against him from an alleged Nov. 10 sexual assault, including criminal sexual penetration, which is punishable by life in prison if he is found guilty.
At one point, Tacket was placed in handcuffs and the prosecutor was arguing for a hefty bond, partly because of the accusation.
Tacket's attorney claimed he had nothing to do with the incident, and argued that the officer, who has worked for both Detroit and Center Line police, should get a lower bond because of his service in the states as well as in Iraq.
Tacket's bond was set at $250,000. He is also ordered to wear a GPS tether, and must stay away from the alleged victim.
The next court date is scheduled for Dec. 20.
