Chevy is paying it forward after seeing a story on Action News.
After we introduced you to ‘Super Ewan’ in November, viewers from all over asked how they can get on board with the 9-year-old determined to help the homeless of Detroit.
Then, General Motors reached out looking to help in a big way.
“I want to help them and I don’t want them to be homeless anymore,” Ewan Drum said.
Every fourth Sunday, the 9-year-old and his family make the journey from New Haven down to Roosevelt Park providing food and essentials to the homeless of Detroit.
This week, they were met with a surprise.
“When we got down to Roosevelt Park I was surprised to see there was a huge tent and there were so many people there to help,” Ewan said.
In November, our friends at Chevy saw Ewan on Action News being honored as one of Ann Marie’s All Stars and they decided to join his mission as part of their “pay it forward” campaign.
But the beds, clothes and food donations were just the beginning because Chevy had a much bigger surprise in store for the Drum family-- giving them a brand new Traverse.
The Drum family says they’ll now be able to bring more donations and head downtown more often in their new Chevy.
