DETROIT (WXYZ) — A barricaded gunman situation involving several children was resolved peacefully Tuesday morning.

Detroit police say a child called 911 with information about a domestic dispute. Police came to the home, located in the 1700 block of Heyden off of 6 Mile and Evergreen, but say a man threatened to shoot if police came any closer.

Around 8 a.m., four children and a woman were let out of the home, but other people were still inside.

Detroit police officials said around 9 a.m. that the situation was resolved peacefully and a 26-year-old man was taken into custody for threatening to shoot police.

Police believe the domestic violence suspect left the home after the child called 911 before police came. They are looking to speak with the suspect.
