HIGHLAND PARK, Mich. (WXYZ) — There was a tense situation in Highland Park where police helped women and children out of a building invaded by a gunman.
The drama unfolded in the area of Woodward and Pilgrim Thursday afternoon.
Police say it all started with reports of a man waving a gun at a gas station. He ran to a nearby apartment building.
A woman who just moved there a couple of weeks ago heard strange noises upstairs before police escorted her and her children out of the building.
Police were able to catch the suspect as he attempted running out the back of the building.
