(WXYZ) — On Tuesday night, a Michigan Army National Guard Chinook helicopter was force to make an emergency landing in Macomb County as a precautionary measure.

According to a spokesperson for the 127th Wing at Selridge Air National Guard Base, the landing happened about 9:45 p.m. in an open field near Ryan Rd. and M-59 during a routine training flight.

We're told the landing was executed in response to a cockpit warning light, and the crew found a suitable area to safely land.

After a maintenance inspection, the aircraft was deemed OK to fly and the crew departed the field at 10:10 p.m. and safely landed at Selfridge at 10:25 p.m. without incident.
