DETROIT (WXYZ) — The city of Detroit announced Thursday afternoon that it will be canceling Halloween activities planned for Chandler and Clark parks as well as the Spirit of Detroit Plaza due to rain.
"As a result of the extremely wet weather, the City of Detroit has canceled the outdoor events at Chandler and Clark parks and Spirit of Detroit Plaza for this evening, Oct. 31," a release states.
Although those outdoor events are canceled, the haunted event at Brennan Pool House in Rouge Park will still go on.
As an alternative, the city suggests that families take advantage of Halloween activities at 10 recreation centers and 11 Detroit police stations across the city. There will also be candy distributed at Detroit fire stations.
