DETROIT (WXYZ) — Civilians running alongside decorated veterans and soldiers took over Detroit streets Sunday.
In a unique pairing of events, Detroit's Veterans Day parade and the 4 Star 4 Mile Race took place.
For race Director Doug Howell it's a dream born from pain and loss. Howell served as a Marine in the Vietnam War.
