CLARKSTON, Mich. (WXYZ) — A Clarkston gas station had its liquor license revoked after several violations of selling alcohol to minors, according to the Michigan Liquor Control Commission.

The Commission ordered the revocation of Dandy Oil, Inc.'s liquor license after a hearing in Southfield Thursday. The store had a total of 15 sale to minor violations, resulting in more than $10,000 in fines.

Officials say on both Sept. 7 and Nov. 21, 2017, Dandy Oil "sold or furnished alcohol to a 19-year-old minor. Identification was not requested, yet the sales was approved in both instances."

On July 13, 2018, the licensee sold liquor to a 19-year-old decoy. Officials say the clerk asked for ID. The decoy said they did not have any. The clerk then asked for their birthday. The decoy responded with a false date, and the transaction was completed, police say.

A previous penalty hearing resulted in a 15-day suspension.

Under Michigan law, the commission "is required to suspend or revoke the liquor license if a licensee is found liable for three or more violations of sales of alcohol to minors sales of alcohol to visibly intoxicated persons – on different occasions within a 24-month period."

Dandy Oil, Inc. is located inside the Citgo gas station on Sashabaw Road. It's held a liquor license since 1989.
