Clinton Township police seek witnesses in tattoo shop owner's fatal shooting

CLINTON TWP. (WXYZ) — The Clinton Township Police Department is looking for witnesses in the fatal shooting of a tattoo shop owner.

Jari Jua Jaafar, 42, was found dead from a gunshot wound inside his apartment home on Hickory Lane, just south of Joy Boulevard and east of Gratiot on May 16. Police say Jaafar ran a tattoo business out of his apartment in Clinton Township.

Several people are potential witnesses because they were present at the apartment at the time of the fatal shooting, according to investigators. They fled the scene.

At this time, no one is in custody and police are looking to speak with any witnesses from that day.
