COMMERCE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — The Oakland County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man who's accused of throwing a 3-year-old boy out the back door of a home and then throwing him back into the home late Sunday night in Commerce Township.

According to the sheriff's office, deputies were sent to the home on Bayberry Dr. on the report of an incident between a man and a woman.

We're told the 26-year-old man woke his girlfriend and her 3-year-old son by yelling and shaking. The 27-year-old girlfriend reported that her boyfriend wanted to fight her, and she said, "I have your unborn child, leave me alone."

That's when police say the suspect went after the 3-year-old, throwing him out the back door of the home and onto the ground. He then picked him up and threw him back in the house through the same door, police say.

According to police, the suspect also went back into the home, picked up the boy and pushed him to the ground. He then left the home, got into a car and crashed into another car a few houses away.

Police eventually arrested the suspect with the help of Wixom, Walled Lake and Wolverine Lake officers. When they confronted him, he began resisting, but he was eventually taken into custody.

The suspect was taken to the hospital and a search warrant for his blood was executed.

The girlfriend and her child were taken to the hospital for treatment. Their condition wasn't given, but the child was placed with relatives.

Pending charges for the suspect include domestic violence, child endangerment, operating while under the influence of drugs, leaving the scene of a property accident and resisting and obstructing police.
