(WXYZ) — The world's largest treasure hunt is coming to Michigan.
The Blackbeard Treasure Hunt announced its 10-state tour, where $1 million in cash will be buried in each state. Participants will be given a digital map with clues and riddles that will bring you closer and closer to the buried treasure.
"With The Blackbeard Treasure hunt, our goal is to get people excited about getting outside, either by themselves or with friends and family, in order to have the adventure of a lifetime," said Justin Cohen, managing director of The Blackbeard Treasure. "And in the process of having the time of your life, you may just unearth a fortune."
Participating states include Michigan, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas.
To participate and receive your digital map, it costs $49.99.
The Blackbeard Treasure company will be following and filming certain participants on their journeys starting Nov. 28.
