DETROIT - Belle Isle is revving up for the 2018 Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear. Crews will begin setting up the track on Monday morning for the Dual in Detroit.
They have one week less than they did in 2017.
That's all part of an effort to let people enjoy Belle Isle as long as they can before the races begin. On top of that, we're told crews will keep access to Sunset Point open much longer than previous years.
Crews also plan to move a grandstand to allow a better view during the race.
At 2.3 miles long, the Raceway at Belle Isle Park street circuit is the longest temporary street course in North America.
Last year, Graham Rahal swept both of the IndyCar races on the island.
