(WXYZ) — Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan confirmed Wednesday that two employees have tested positive for COVID-19, the company said.
The entire workforce was notified of the news Wednesday.
A spokesperson for the company says one employee who tested positive had been working remotely and not been on site in Detroit for nearly two weeks. The second employee was recently at work in Southfield. Now the floor where that employee was working has been closed for cleaning until Friday, the company spokesperson said.
"The cleaning and disinfection will be thorough and extra emphasis will be placed on frequently touched surfaces and common areas," said company spokesperson Helen Stojic. "Blue Cross has expanded its remote work program and intensified our building cleaning in response to COVID-19. Business operations continue."
