DETROIT (WXYZ) — The Detroit Regional Chamber is calling on state leadership to find a safe way for businesses to safely reopen after months of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Chamber sent a letter to Governor Gretchen Whitmer and the Michigan Legislative Quadrant leaders in partnership with statewide business groups the Grand Rapids Chamber, Michigan Chamber of Commerce and Small Business Association of Michigan.

The letter advises the safe reopening of gyms, movie theaters, bowling alleys and more.

Michigan is one of a handful of states that has not allowed these sectors to reopen in any capacity, they said.
