Detroit's District 1 officials hold public meeting discussing fight against COVID-19

DETROIT (WXYZ) — Officials in Detroit's District 1 community held a public meeting to discuss the fight against COVID-19 on Saturday.

The event was streamed via Zoom.

District 1 communities include: Brightmoor, Castle Rouge, Old Redford, Riverdale, Berg-Lahser, Grandmont #1, Grandmont Community, Rosedale Park, North Rosedale Park, Minock Park, Grand River-Greenfield, O'Hair Park and Crary-St. Marys.

The Zoom meeting offered updates from Detroit Deputy Mayor Conrad Mallet and Detroit Health Department's Chief Health Officer Denise Fair.

Officials also talked about a new city program aimed at helping Detroit residents in need of housing, employment and help with utility bills during the pandemic.
