SOUTHGATE, Mich. (WXYZ) — Southgate's mayor is confirming that the first person to die in Michigan of COVID-19 was a resident of his city.
Joseph Kuspa tells 7 Action News that he was informed Wednesday evening by officials from the Wayne County Health Department. Kuspa says the Health Deparment had informed them during previous confernce calls that they would be alerted if someone in their community died of coronavirus.
The Health Departments will be investigating all suspected COVID-19 deaths.
