Michigan confirms 517 new cases of COVID-19, 9 deaths

(WXYZ) — There are now 89,271 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 6,273 deaths in Michigan, the state reported Wednesday.

That's up 517 cases and nine deaths from the day before.

So far, 63,636 have recovered from the virus in Michigan, according the state's latest COVID-19 numbers.

The governor's office said every region in Michigan has seen an uptick in new cases over the past several weeks, and daily case counts in late July exceeded 50 cases per million statewide.

The statewide positivity rate has also increased from a low of 2% in mid-June to 3.5% in late July.
