(WXYZ) — There are 528,306 total confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 13,533 total deaths in Michigan, the state reported Wednesday.

That's up 2,694 cases and 32 deaths from the day before.

State officials say they are watching numbers closely after a slight increase in both case rate and positivity rate.

However, officials said Michigan is in a "much better" place with its numbers now than it was at the beginning of November.

Currently, 12.% percent of inpatient beds are filled with COVID-19 patients; the rate of decrease is slowing, officials said.
