Michigan reports 543 new cases of COVID-19, highest daily spike since May

(WXYZ) — Michigan reported 543 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday, the highest daily total since May.

Additionally, the state reported 15 additional deaths.

There are now 64,675 cases and 5,966 deaths statewide.

Cases continue to be higher than they were through the early and mid-parts of June as more businesses have opened up.

More than 51,000 people have recovered from the virus, according to the state. Those numbers are updated every Saturday and include people who are still living 30 days after the onset of their symptoms.
