(WXYZ) — There are a total of 302,705 coronavirus cases and 8,478 deaths in Michigan, the state reported Saturday.
The state is now reporting 7,528 new COVID-19 and adding 101 deaths. According to the state, the deaths announced Saturday includes 59 deaths identified during a Vital Records review.
The CDC recommended Thursday Americans not travel for Thanksgiving during the current spike in coronavirus cases nationwide. There are more than 11 million reported cases of COVID-19 in this country since the pandemic started, and more than 250,000 Americans have died.
On Wednesday, new COVID-19 restrictions went into effect in Michigan. Governor Gretchen Whitmer ordered the suspension of in-person dining services, the closing of high schools, movie theatres, and more.
As of Nov. 20, more than 152,000 people have recovered from the virus in Michigan.
