Recently retired Oakland County deputy dies of COVID-19

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. (WXYZ) — The Oakland County Sheriff's Office is mourning the loss of a recently retired deputy. Retired K9 Deputy Mike Garrison died due to complications from COVID-19, the department announced on Facebook Thursday.

"As an employee, Deputy Garrison was a top-notch employee, who was loved by all," the Facebook post read. "He brought such joy to the community as a K9 Deputy and had a deep passion for his job. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Garrison family during this incredibly difficult time."
