SOUTH LYON, Mich. (WXYZ_ — South Lyon Community Schools says a student at Salem Elementary School has tested positive for COVID-19.
The school is not releasing any other information about the student because of privacy laws. The district says the family is currently in self-quarantine. They will not return until either the quarantine period expires, or the school reopens, whichever comes second.
Officials say the risk to staff and the students is low. They are reaching out and providing assistance to anyone who may have been in close contact with the student or their family.
