Police capture suspects accused of using counterfeit $100 bills in Lapeer County

UPDATE: Imlay City police have apprehended suspects involved in passing out counterfeit $100 bills. No further details have been released regarding the arrest.

The Imlay City Police Department is warning residents and local businesses of counterfeit bills being distributed in Lapeer County.

Officers say the bills are not detectable to counterfeit pens and all have the same serial number: JB69122674B. 

Police believe three black women operating a silver sedan are behind the fake bills.
