The Shelby Township Fire Department battled a fire on former Ford Motor Company land near the Packard Proving Grounds Monday night following a fireworks show.
The grounds are in the area of 23 Mile between Mound and Van Dyke.
The Packard Proving Grounds Historic Site was not damaged in the incident.
Flames started small and then quickly grew. Firefighters say they were strategically places around the area prior to the fireworks show, so they were able to swiftly jump into action when the fire started.
No one was injured or evacuated.
