Firefighters are still working to gain control of a massive fire in Highland Park this morning.
The business is at the corner of Oakman and Hamilton. This warehouse is used by a company called Reclaim Detroit. They take old abandoned houses, strip them down saving valuables and items like tiles, fixtures and handles that are considered antique.
They turn blight busting into treasure hunting.
Firefighters say they were called to this fire at about 3 a.m.
We're told people who were working inside at the time called 911. No one was injured in the fire.
One school located nearby has closed for the day: George Washington Carver Academy.
The Highland Park mayor tells 7 Action News they have started to evacuate residents and businesses east of the fire due to smoke dangers. There has also been a Boil Water Advisory issued for the city due to low water pressure.
