Multiple fire crews spent hours battling a massive fire at the BridgePoint Church in Temperance on Saturday afternoon.

The fire broke out around 3 p.m. at the church in Monroe County, just about five miles north of the Ohio border.

According to the Monroe News, officials are investigating the fire but say it appears it may have started in an office.

We're told the building is a total loss. No one was inside at the time of the blaze.

In all, it took 12 fire departments from surrounding communities and hundreds of thousands of gallons of water to contain the fire.

Officials say they battled it for nearly nine hours before it was contained.

Arrangements have been made to move Sunday Service to another location, and residents who usually attend BridgePoint's service can attend the service at the Bedford High School auditorium at 11 a.m.
