One of Dancing With The Stars’ front-runners, Jana Kramer, is killing it on this season of the show.

However on elimination day, no one is more nervous than the Metro Detroit native’s family….including her brother Steve Kramer.

“Our family meets up gets together at different houses and watches it,” said Kramer. “It’s never-wracking when it gets to the elimination.”

Jana’s big brother, a sergeant at the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department, will for once take a step in his sister’s shoes… or should we say dancing shoes.

Kramer says taking the first step was not easy.

“My head was thinking one thing my feet were thinking another and then everything stopped working and O was just standing there… like what do I do?,” said Steve.  “And it’s still like that.”

Steve will be one of the participants in the Oakland County Faith In Action’s Dancing With The Stars fundraiser, where local celebrities will hit the floor to raise money to help the elderly and disabled who have been abused.

“I’m just privileged to be apart of this,” said Steve.

And who better to get a pep talk from… than a country music star and actress who just so happens to be your sister!

She FaceTimed Steve with words of encourgament.

“I’m so proud of him,” said Jana. ‘When I heard he was doing this I was like yes! We are both getting out of our comfort zone.”

Steve and his partner will be giving the east coast swing a whirl when they compete, and you better believe, his buddies at the sheriff’s department are enjoying all of this.

Steve told 7 Action News he may soon have to take his moves to work to get more practice in!

“I’m going to have to start because clearly what I’m doing here is not enough,” said Steve.

But so far his partner Danielle Watko thinks he as come a long way.

“I introduced him to fox trot a couple weeks ago,” said Danielle. “He caught on really good.  It’s a smoother dance but then I was like okay we are going to flip the script and now we are going to do swing.  So…that’s what we’ve been working on and his progress is great.”

To their competitors… they say watch out!

“Show them what the Kramer’s got,” Jana told her brother via FaceTime.

That is exactly what Steve says he plans to do..

The big event will take place January 21 at 7 p.m. at the San Marino Club in Troy.
