(WXYZ) — Temperatures are rising once again across metro Detroit, but this weekend could bring the highest humidity we've felt so far this summer.
Highs will be in the mid 90s Saturday and Sunday, and a breezy southwest wind will usher in more moisture to make it feel much hotter.
Some forecast models bring dew point temperatures into the mid 70s, which is quite high for metro Detroit. Be ready for a heat indices in the mid to upper 90s Saturday, and around 100° Sunday.
Plan ahead if you have outdoor plans this weekend. Always bring water with you to stay hydrated, wear loose-fitting and light-colored clothes, wear a hat and sun screen, and take breaks in the shade when possible if you work outside.
The humidity will be highest Sunday, which could also lead to strong thunderstorms developing Sunday afternoon. We'll get a better idea on timing and impacts of potential storms, but right now it looks like the biggest impacts would be damaging gusts and heavy rain.
