DETROIT (WXYZ) — 7 Action News Anchor Dave LewAllen and Reporter Andrea Isom will be celebrity servers at the annual Empty Bowls Detroit fundraiser, benefiting Cass Community Social Services on Friday night at Detroit's Eastern Market.
The event runs from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at Eastern Market Shed 5 and features soup, beer, wine, cheese, dessert, bread, live entertainment and much more.
It's a strolling dinner of all of those things above, and attendees also choose a bowl to take home out of the hundreds that are created each year by the members of the Cass Community Social Services team as a reminder that someone's bowl is always empty.
The event helps raise money for the group, which helps provide food, housing, health services and job programs to those in need.
Tickets for the event are $50 ahead of time or $60 at the door, and are available here.
