Dearborn Heights police looking for suspect who broke into home, stole valuable jewelry

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. (WXYZ) — Dearborn Heights police are looking for a suspect who broke into a home and stole several valuables on Jan. 10.

According to a police report, the suspect was seen by a passerby entering the home through a window. The home is located on Fairview Stree in the Garling subdivision. When police arrived, the suspect was gone.

However, from surveillance video of the area, which was obtained by police, the suspect was seen arriving and leaving in an older model, red or maroon Taurus. The vehicle has distinctive red duct tape on the rear bumper and heavy front end damage, as shown in the photo.

The items stolen from the home include high-end jewelry and musical instruments.

The suspect is an unknown male. Police say he was wearing a black hoodie and black pants. The robbery happened between 7:30 a.m. and 10 a.m.
