DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. (WXYZ) — Dearborn Heights police are warning the public about a suspicious character who allegedly walked up to a woman as she was preparing to use an ATM.
It happened Sunday at the ATM drive-thru at the Citizens Bank on Cherry Hill and Inkster.
The woman says as she was preparing to use the ATM, the man walked right up to her. She then decided not to get any money out of the machine. However, the man insisted on standing right next to her vehicle, telling her to go ahead, police say.
The woman left the ATM without incident, police say.
The man is described as light skinned and black. He's thin build with a goatee and glasses. He was riding a bicycle.
Police say the warning is cautionary, and advises the public to always be aware of their surroundings when at an ATM.
