The doors are chained shut at the old Brooklands School in Rochester, but that didn't stop someone from stealing a dedication plaque from inside the building.
School leaders were doing a walk-through of the former school about a week ago when they noticed something was missing.
"It was a dedication plaque. It was placed in the building in 1927 when it was built. It was made of brass," says Dr. Robert Shaner, Rochester Community Schools superintendent. "I don't know why somebody would take, it but it really means a lot to the greater Rochester community. We would hope that if someone has the plaque that they would return it."
Anyone with information about the missing plaque is asking to call the Oakland County Tip Line at 888-887-6146.
