The Detroit Health Department will temporarily close the Detroit Animal Care and Control as it works to diagnose an upper respiratory ailment that is affecting animals in the shelter.

The DACC will be shut down from December 12 to January 2. The building will be closed to the public during this time.

Bite quarantine dogs will be admitted to an isolated area of the shelter.

During the closure, stray dogs will be taken to the Michigan Anti-Cruelty Society at 13569 Joseph Campau in Detroit.
