DETROIT (WXYZ) — The Detroit City Council voted 5-4 Tuesday to keep the Spirit of Detroit Plaza a permanent fixture downtown.

This comes less than a week after council members voted down a proposal to keep the plaza located between Larned and Jefferson on Woodward Avenue. The council voted 4-4 on the resolution, which rejected it as the vote didn't reach a majority on either side.
