DETROIT (WXYZ) — A dog is safe and warm this morning after it was rescued Monday.

Detroit Dog Rescue says the dog, named Jefferson, was left out in the cold.

Detroit firefighters and an EMS worker rescued him. They said Jefferson would've died if they hadn't found him.

They also said Jefferson will need quite a bit of care to recover.

The Detroit Dog Rescue is also reminding people to bring their pets indoors during the extreme cold.
