A 26-year-old Detroit man is facing felony charges in connection with the nonfatal shooting of his 25-year-old wife at her workplace.

According to a release from Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy, Robert Earl Easley-Calloway had allegedly been recently violent with his wife. She was reportedly concerned about her safety and asked two male coworkers to ride with her to work.

On Nov. 26 around 3:14 a.m., it is alleged that she parked near the entrance and Easley-Calloway approached her vehicle. When the doors automatically unlocked, he allegedly opened the driver's door and shoved a shotgun in her face.

Her two co-workers exited the vehicle and Easley-Calloway allegedly fired the shotgun and grazed his wife, who left the vehicle and ran away with her coworkers. He then reportedly reloaded the shotgun and fired, and struck his wife in the back.

Easley-Calloway then reportedly forced his wife into the vehicle and drove off, where he was pursued by the Livonia Police Department. Michigan State Police joined the pursuit and eventually disabled the vehicle.

He was shot during the chase and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

“This case is yet another stark reminder of the massive problem we have in Wayne County with domestic violence,” Worthy said.

Easley-Calloway has been charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct - First Degree, Kidnapping, Felonious Assault, three counts of Assault with Intent to Murder, three counts of Felonious Assault, Unlawful Imprisonment, eight counts of Felony Firearm and Fleeing and Eluding - Fourth Degree.
