DEARBORN, Mich. (WXYZ) — A Detroit man has been charged in the March 1 fatal shooting of a Livonia woman.

The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office has charged Allen Michael Sherrill, 27, with the murder of Junika Hardy, 28.

According to police, on March 1 at 7:50 p.m., Dearborn police were dispatched to the 17600 block of Michigan Ave. When they arrived, officers found Sherrill standing outside a vehicle and Hardy on the ground near the driver's door. Hardy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say that while the two were riding in the car with Sherrill in the passenger seat, he fatally shot the victim.

Sherrill is charged with first-degree murder, carrying a concealed weapon and felony firearm. He was arraigned Tuesday in 19th District Court and remanded and held without bond until his preliminary hearing on March 22.
