A man found guilty of murdering a woman and her 10-year-old son was sentenced this morning.
In court, Antoine Beck said he was sorry for what he did. The judge didn't buy it.
Judge Thomas Cameron sentenced him to 45 to 70 years in prison, saying "I think that you are completely empty inside."
Beck strangled 10-year-old Samauri Das, then tied up and killed the boy's mother, 28-year-old Courtney Durr.
Their bodies were found last June inside their home at the La Colonnade Apartments in Southgate. Durr's family testified during the sentencing, asking for the maximum amount of time.
