DETROIT (WXYZ) — Following Thursday's vote in the U.S. House of Representatives to raise the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour, Detroit McDonald's workers announced they will protest Friday demanding the company follow suit.
Workers argue that the fast-food giant has fallen far behind other employers, like Target, Disney, Bank of America and Amazon.
Detroit workers will be joined by workers in 10 cities, including Los Angeles, San Jose, Chicago, Kansas City, St. Louis, Miami, Orlando, and Durham, North Carolina.
The rally will take place at noon at the McDonald's location located on W. Grand Blvd in Detroit.
