Detroit mom reunited with 10-month-old after suspect steals vehicle with baby inside

DETROIT (WXYZ) — A mother and child have been reunited after a suspect stole her vehicle with her 10-month-old baby inside.

On Jan. 25‪ around 1 p.m. in the 8700 block of Woodward, a 27-year old mom parked her vehicle in front of a residence, leaving her car keys inside.

Police say she took her two minor children into the home and when she returned to her vehicle to get her 10-month-old child, the mother discovered her car and child were gone.

A short time later, officers recovered the child unharmed and vehicle in the area of Boston and Dexter.

The child has been reunited with his mother, according to police.

Police say the suspect unknown at this time. The case remains under investigation.
