It's hard to imagine anyone mutilating a dog, but a veterinarian says that's what happened to a mastiff-mix that was rescued just in time Monday morning.
Detroit Pit Crew dog rescue got a call from a family that spotted the dog near their fence, bleeding heavily from his backside.
The dog was located near Kelly and Morang on Detroit's east side.
Detroit Pit Crew rushed out to rescue the dog and rush him to the vet where he underwent emergency surgery. Sadly, the dog had extensive injuries where someone had mutilated his genitals in an apparent attempt to cut them off.
The dog has been named Otis. Detroit Pit Crew is working with police to find the person responsible.
If you have any information on the mutilation of Otis or any other dog, call the Detroit Pit Crew at 248-906-9022.
