Detroit police investigate 2 non-fatal shootings from overnight

DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit police are investigating two separate non-fatal shootings from overnight.

Here is preliminary information from DPD:

Non-Fatal Shooting in the area of Grand River and Stahelin

On July 31 around 9:46 p.m. in the area of Grand River and Stahelin, the 27-year-old male victim was shot by an unknown suspect while he was driving a white Kia Optima.

Police say the victim was privately taken to a local hospital and listed in stable condition.

Non-fatal shooting in the 300 block of E. Jefferson

On August 1 around 1:30 a.m. in the 300 block of E. Jefferson, the 28-year-old male victim was walking when he was approached the suspects who produced weapons and announced a robbery.

Police say the suspects took the victim's personal property and as the victim began running away, shots were fired, striking the victim in the body.

He was privately transported to a local hospital and listed in stable condition.
