DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit police are investigating a non-fatal freeway shooting that happened overnight.
On Dec. 26 around 1 a.m., troopers responded to meet a Detroit police unit about a shooting on M-10.
Troopers say a preliminary investigation revealed that a passenger vehicle was traveling south on M-10 when another unknown vehicle fired multiple shots through the driver side, striking the the 22-year-old male driver. The driver then switched positions with his passenger who continued driving.

They saw a DPD unit working a crash scene at Davison and Wildemere and stopped for help, according to MSP. The driver was taken to a local hospital and listed in critical condition.
Troopers closed M-10 for an evidence search and attempt to locate the crime scene. The investigation is ongoing.
