Detroit police are investigating after a woman was killed in a shooting and crash near the corner of Mansfield and Ellis.
We're told a 62-year-old woman was driving when her car was hit by bullets. She was also hit and lost control of her vehicle, slamming into a pole. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.
Family tells us the victim's name is Vanessa Winslow. She would have turned 63 years old on Christmas Eve.
Police are still trying to piece this one together. Officers believe the incident could be connected to another shooting scene around the corner on St. Mary's Street.
