Detroit police investigating road rage shooting incident on city's west side

DETROIT (WXYZ) — Police are investigating a road rage incident that resulted in a shooting on Detroit's west side.

On Feb. 5, police say there was a road rage incident involving two male drivers in the area of W. 7 Mile and Santa Rosa.

The incident resulted in an exchange of gunfire between the two. As a result, police say one of the drivers, a 24-year-old man, was struck. He was conveyed to the hospital by officers and listed in critical condition.

He also had passengers, an adult and several children, in his vehicle, but police say he was unharmed.

Three of the children ran from the vehicle when the incident occurred, but were found and are safe with family.

Police say the other driver fled from the location when the incident occurred in a dark-colored Chevy Impala north on Stoepel and then north Livernois.
