DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit police are investigating a string of separate shootings between Friday and Sunday around metro Detroit.

Five of those shootings happened between approximately 12:30 a.m. and 3:45 a.m. Sunday.

1) 12:26 a.m. Revere Street near East 7 Mile: 42-year-old black male shot in the right thigh. Suspect described as a light skinned black male driving a black Dodge Ram truck with red rims and front push bumpers. Detroit police say the victim was also in a car, and the two exchanged words. The suspect reportedly fired at least four rounds at the victim, striking him once.

2) 1:41 a.m. West McNichols Road and Livernois Ave (in a driveway): A 22-year-old black female was shot in the neck and arm while sitting in her car in a driveway. Suspect reportedly walked up and starting shooting several rounds into her windshield and she was struck. Suspect described as black male between 5"8 and 6"0, around 180 pounds last seen wearing a black hoody.

3) 2:43 a.m. Floyd Avenue near Livernois: 25-year-old black male shot several times. He was brought to the hospital in critical condition. Victim reportedly told police the suspects took his cell phone. Suspects described as a black male with light complexion last seen wearing a gray top, and a black male dressed in all black. Police say one of the suspects was armed.

4) 3:25 a.m. near John C. Lodge Freeway and West 7 Mile: 22-year-old black male shot in the right thigh. Suspect is unknown. Police say two vehicles drove by the victim firing shots at each other, and he was struck.

5) 3:45 a.m. near Ford Road and Stahelin: 27-year-old black male shot in the right leg. Suspect is unknown, but reportedly seen driving a white SUV. Detroit police say the victim was crossing the street when the suspect drove by him, firing several shots.

Baker Albaaj moved to metro Detroit almost 30 years ago from Iraq. He lives on Stahelin near Ford Road, where one of the shootings occurred. He has two kids who regularly play outside and says this string of shootings is worrisome.

"We fled out country to live in peace," he tells 7 Action News.

Robert King also lives on Stahelin and says he heard several gunshots over the weekend, but they sounded very far away.

"I think a lot of it has to do with the young people. They have nothing to do. So they tend to run to the streets," he said.

So far, Detroit police have not made any arrests.

In total, police are investigating 13 separate shootings between Friday and Sunday.

This is a developing story. We expect to learn more from investigators Monday.
