Detroit police looking for suspect in connection to homicide on city's east side

DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit police are looking for a 29-year-old man in connection to an armed robbery and fatal shooting of a 36-year-old man on the city's east side.

The crime happened Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 4 a.m. in the 4300 block of Grayton.

Police say three men entered the home on Grayton and robbed the victim at gunpoint. The victim was found later by police shot dead inside his resident.

Investigators also later learned there were five total suspects involved in the robbery and shooting. There are currently four of the suspects in custody, but Deandre Jarrell Houston is still on the loose.

Houston faces charges including felony murder, armed robbery causing serious injury and felon in possession of a fire arm.

Police warn that Houston is armed and dangerous and is also gang affiliated.

Houston is described as 6 foot 1 inches tall, 200 pounds and medium complexion. He's known to wear locs, and also has a tattoo of a star in the center of his neck with the number 87.
