Detroit police seek suspect who allegedly shot 16-year-old purchasing fireworks

DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit police are looking for the public's help in locating a suspect who allegedly shot a 16-year-old boy as he was purchasing fireworks from a tent near Greenfield Road on July 2.

According to a release, the incident happened on the city's west side, on the corner near Greenfield and Joy roads.

The 16-year-old victim was attempting to buy fireworks when the suspect fired shots inside the tent. The boy was hit, and transported to a local hospital where he is currently listed in stable condition.

The suspect is identified as a black man, 31 years old, medium complexion and medium build.
