Detroit police looking for teen who never returned home after taking out trash

DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit police are looking for a 14-year-old boy who hasn't been seen since taking out the trash on Aug. 4.

According to the Marsel Mayfield's mother, the teen was last seen in the 8000 block of 2nd Ave. on Sunday. It was around 7:30 when the boy was told to take out the trash.

Mayfield never returned inside the house. His mother says she's concerned for his safety.

Mayfield is described as a black male. He's 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weights 135 pounds. He has brown eyes, a short black afro and has a dark brown complexion.

The teen was last seen wearing a dark gray shirt, black shorts, tall black socks with whit strips along the top and black flip flops.
