Detroit police report 10 overnight shootings, 1 fatal

DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit police report nine shootings in the city from Saturday night to Sunday morning. The shootings include nine non-fatal shootings and one fatal shooting. Additionally, there was one critical assault and one fatal accident reported overnight.

Non-Fatal Shooting:
Preliminary on June 28, 2020 at approximately 8:10 a.m. in the area of Cardoni/Lynn St, the victim (33-yr. old male) followed the suspect to the area to meet up with the suspect’s friends. While at the location, the suspect robbed the victim and attempted to carjack him. After the victim refused to give up his vehicle, the suspect shot him then fled the location possibly in a silver SUV. The suspect was described as a black male, medium brown complexion, 5’5” to 5-8”. Taken was the victim’s wallet, phone, and car keys. The victim was transported to the local hospital and listed in stable condition. The circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated. Triple Non-Fatal Shooting:
Preliminary on June 28, 2020 at approximately 1:25 a.m. the victims (28, 32 & 34 yr. old males) were allegedly in the area of Payton and Casino when someone fired several shots, striking the victims. All three victims were privately conveyed to the hospital and listed in stable condition. Unknown suspect(s) at this time. The circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated. Double Non-Fatal Shooting:
Preliminary on June 28, 2020 at approximately 12:20 a.m. in the 9800 block of Chalmers Street, the victims (25, 31-year old males) were leaving the local business when an unknown person started shooting, and they were struck. The victims were conveyed to a hospital where they were treated and listed in stable condition. Unknown Suspect(s) at this time. Non-Fatal Shooting:
Preliminary on June 27, 2020 at approximately 11:45 p.m. in the area of Beland and Manning, the 17-year old male victim was in the location when multiple shots were fired and he was struck. The victim was privately conveyed to the hospital and listed in stable condition. The circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated. Critical Assault:
Preliminary on June 27, 2020 at approximately 11:20 p.m. in the 21400 block of Glenco, the 43-year old male victim was allegedly at the location when an altercation occurred between him and a known suspect resulting into the suspect physically assaulting him. After the incident, the suspect fled. The victim was transported to the hospital and listed in critical condition. The circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated. Fatal Shooting:
Preliminary on June 27, 2020 at approximately 9:30 p.m. in the 17400 block of Aubin, an unknown male victim (driver, john doe), was found fatally shot inside of a Burgundy Chevy Colorado Pickup Truck. The pickup truck had crashed into a vacant house where the victim was found. Medics responded and pronounced the him deceased. The circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated. Suspect is unknown at this time. Non-Fatal Shooting:
Preliminary on June 27, 2020 at approximately 9p.m. in the area of Littlefield and Fenkell, the 26-year old male victim was allegedly in the area when he was shot by an unknown person. The circumstances surrounding this incident are unknown at this time and still being investigated. Fatal Accident:
Preliminary on June 27, 2020 at approximately 9 p.m. in the 9300 block of Jefferson, a blue Oldsmobile Intrigue was allegedly traveling east on Jefferson at a high rate of speed in, when the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck the wall of the Detroit Water Treatment Plant. As a result of the accident, three people were killed (two males, one female), and one third person was transported to the hospital and listed in critical condition. All victims were in their mid-20’s. The circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated. Non-Fatal Shooting:
Preliminary on June 27, 2020 at approximately 8:20 p.m. in the 15800 block of Maddelein, the 15-year old male victim was with a group of males when they got into a verbal altercation with another group regarding an on-going dispute. During the argument the suspect produced a weapon and shoot the victim. After the shooting, the suspect fled but was later arrested by police without incident. The victim was transported to the hospital and listed in stable condition. The suspect, (18-year old male) was taken to Detroit Detention Center for processing.
